The Fibre Studio will be onsite during tomorrow’s (January 10, 2012, from 9a-12p) Active Senior Expo at the Harris YMCA, 5900 Quail Hollow Road, to showcase some fibers and talk about the shop. LeeAnn Stephenson, who is coordinating the event, recently stopped in to The Fibre Studio to encourage our participation. “When creating an agenda for active seniors,” she said, “it’s not just the body we want to concentrate on. It’s very important for us all to continue to learn and grow and use our minds.”
The Fibre Studio wholeheartedly agrees with this. Like music, knitting and crochet encourage the part of the brain that supports higher math functions. It’s also a great way to create a personal network or community of new friends…something we all need and sometimes forget to make time for.
Whether you’re a (1) supporter of The Fibre Studio, (2) senior who wants to experience something new or become more active in 2012, or (3) a family member or friend who wants to support the seniors in your life…please join us tomorrow from 9a-12p for the Active Senior Expo. The event is free and open to the community.
