Socktober & Yarn Clubs & Knitalongs, Oh My!

Exciting things are happening at The Fibre Studio at Yarns to Dye For, and we have been biting our nails eagerly awaiting the opportunity to share with you all.

Firstly, The Fibre Studio is sponsoring the Carolina Fiber Girls SOCKtober2016 sock knitting event. The Carolina Fiber Girls is a weekly podcast (hosted by Ann Clingenpeel and Janis Ficker) who discuss their favorite knitting and spinning projects–what goes right, what goes wrong and what’s upcoming. They created SOCKtober three years ago as a month-long KAL utilizing either patterns or fibers from small companies who may not receive a lot of media attention. Makers who participate can create a small project to keep their feet warm and use a pattern or yarn from a company they previously have never heard of or tried.

Later this week we will also introduce two, YES TWO, new yarn clubs! Our Keep Pounding Yarn Club is making a reappearance with even more options to show your support and wear your Panther’s colors. We will also introduce our Inspired by the Cinema Yarn Club, which will celebrate the birthdays for Breakfast at Tiffany’s (55th) and American in Paris (65th).

Lastly, we are dyeing some beautiful fibers for the Boo Knits Halloween Taboo MKAL, which goes live on October 1. We’ve chosen our Sea Song Lace [59% Cultivated Silk, 29% SW Merino, 20% Sea Cell ™] for this project, which will create a beautiful soft drape to the finished shawl.

Stay tuned…more exciting news to come!

Peaceful stitching, y’all!
