All About That Lace

Hi Everyone,
This week we focus on two new projects, both of which are perfect for color play kits (or stashbusting); both projects utilize lace with other unique textures to create the motif for which they are named.

We are also in the last days of accepting pre-orders for our Crown jEWEls 12-color kits for the July 19 launch of Casapinka’s MKAL. [Psssst….here’s a tip….just one of our Crown jEWEls kits, combined with a MC will make BOTH of these two new projects too!]

Anemone Shawl
Anemone, a free pattern by The Noble Thread, is a semi-circular shawl inspired by the beautiful sea anemones it is named after. It is fluid, graceful and colorful. Each simple section uses only one stitch pattern, and is only repeated once in the shawl. Easy bobbles, slipped stitches, and eyelet and mesh stitches are used. The sections flow from one to the other through texture and color. The changing stitches and colors will keep you entertained and wanting to get to the next section.

Cascadial Wrap
Have you been hunting for a great pattern to show off mini skeins, gradients, or favorite leftover bits? Is mosaic knitting on your list of things to try? Then say hello the Cascadial Wrap by designer Erin Kurup.

Mixing simple lace and mosaic motifs makes this wrap a great intro project for exploring a popular colorwork technique while being varied enough to hold the interest of experienced knitters. The bias construction sets the bands of color and lace on an angle, lending drama to the overall effect and drape to the finished piece, which can be fully-customized.

The name is drawn from two sources: the peaks of the Cascade mountain range east of Portland, Oregon (the mosaic motif) and the image of frothing water cascading down a waterfall (the lace motif). As with the previous project we love our Color Play Kits (or a Crown jEWEls kit) combined with our SW Merino – Fingering for maximum flexibility.

Crown jEWEls for Crown Wools MKAL
The Fibre Studio created these dynamic, 12-color kits for designer Casapinka’s The Crown Wools MKAL, which will begin July 19, 2018. However, these generously-proportioned kits are quite versatile and can be used for multiple projects including those listed above.

Each of our Crown jEWEls Kits contains twelve, 1-ounce skeins of our SW Merino – Fingering base, which are approximately 140 yards each (~1,680 yards total in kit).

We are currently taking pre-orders for six color ways including Cherokee, Eastwick, Nouveau Rainbow, River Rock, Seaside, and Tourmaline through July 9, 2018. With these color options, everyone can be crowned a prince(ss).
