Hi Ewe Crew!
Last week we announced our next KAL project–Sunshine Coast, by designer Heidi Kirrmaier. We are currently taking pre-orders for this project; yarn will be available to mail or pick up by June 10, at our World Wide Knit in Public Day Celebration. We have gathered additional information here for your use and will update the pattern page also.
SAVE THE DATE!!
The Fibre Studio is hosting it’s fourth World Wide Knit in Public Day event (the second at this location) on Saturday, June 10, 2017 from 10:30am to 5:30pm. We invite all fiber artists and makers to come and be with other makers.
Come rain or shine, we will swing open our industrial doors and make room for fiber, friends, and nature (not necessarily in that order). There will be new color ways for sale, raffles and giveaways, a spinning demonstration, and light refreshments.
Visitors who plan to stay awhile should bring a knit/crochet/drop spindle project, sunscreen, a brown bag lunch, a folding chair, and perhaps even a beach umbrella if you want to sit outside on the (very safe) grassy knoll.
THE KAL PROJECT
Sunshine Coast is a lovely little pullover, is quite simple in appearance, but comes with a few little design details that make it special. The A-line body shape is flattering on many body types. It is intended to fit with ½ to 3 inches of ease at the bust.
Knit entirely seamlessly from the top down, it is also quite easy to execute. The side details are formed through basic increases and decreases.
The gauge as written is suitable for a heavy DK or light worsted yarn, however, The Fibre Studio is turning this sweater into a four-season garment by knitting it loosely in a fingering-weight yarn. We recommend several of our yarn bases for this pattern.
